How juntotrip works
juntotrip is an automated project. An AI pipeline writes the pages from travelers’ messages; no person writes or checks each page before it is published. This is what happens to a message on its way to a page.
1. Collection
We collect messages from traveler and expat group chats on Telegram, both open ones and ones joined by invitation, and from traveler groups on Facebook. We do not collect private messages.
2. Cleaning
Messages shorter than 80 characters are dropped (short travel questions are the exception), as are ads, chat service messages, emoji spam and, on Telegram, messages from authors listed in the CAS spam database. Phone numbers, emails and @usernames are cut from the text before further processing.
3. Classification and grouping
AI labels each message with its country, city and topic. Questions and the replies to them are grouped into one topic by meaning and by keywords. A reply to a message that is already in a topic joins that topic if the country matches, and one Facebook thread forms one topic.
4. Publication threshold
A topic can become a page when it has at least 3 messages, at least one of them substantive (80+ characters), and its substantive messages add up to at least 200 characters. New pages have a higher bar: at least 600 characters of substantive material and no more than 60 new topics per day. Before a new page is published, AI also checks that its answer is actually supported by these messages; if it is not, the page is not published. This checks that an answer is present, not every fact. Pages published before this check was introduced did not go through it.
5. Writing the page
In one request, AI writes the Russian and English versions: the question, a short answer and several answer cards that paraphrase the messages rather than quote them. Automatic checks reject a page with missing fields, a page that is too short (under 200 words for both languages together), and a page containing chat links, phone numbers, emails or other contacts. A card’s date is the date of the earliest message it is based on; if that date cannot be established reliably, it is not shown.
6. Counters
The number of “sources” on a page is how many different Telegram chats (for Facebook, different discussion threads) the messages come from; “participants” is how many different authors wrote them. These are not counts of independent confirmations: several messages may repeat the same thing.
7. Updates
When new messages appear in a topic, the page can get new answer cards. Its address and first publication date stay the same.
8. Errors and responsibility
No one checks every page. The project owner reviews a sample of pages and fixes errors that are reported. To report an error, write to editorial@juntotrip.com; removal requests go to takedown@juntotrip.com. We will reply within a reasonable time.
9. How to use these pages
This is travelers’ experience, not official information. Visa and entry rules, money, health and laws change: check them with the official source, such as a consulate, carrier, bank or doctor. One person’s experience does not guarantee that yours will be the same.
