Are hotel and apartment buildings in Egypt well soundproofed?

A recent guest report suggests the issue is not limited to one room: footsteps can be heard from staircases and lower floors in different buildings. For a quieter stay, choose a room and floor away from the stairwell.

Guests note that corridor noise carries clearly through room doors, including conversations, shouting and footsteps on tiled floors. If sleep is important, request a room away from high-traffic areas and bring earplugs.

Night-time corridor noise is a separate concern: even where neighboring rooms are reasonably isolated, sounds from common areas may disturb guests. When booking, ask where the room is located relative to the entrance and lobby.
