TL;DR
Ask for buildings 3-4 (sea view) — they're closest to the beach; even the farthest building (1000-series) is only a 3-minute walk. Families with kids should book a Family room in buildings 32 or 38 upfront instead of a standard room.
On this stay, guests got sea view rooms in buildings 3-4. The main draw of this Rotana property is the greenery and sea, not the animation program, so being close to the water matters more.
Garden view rooms in the farthest buildings mean a long walk to the sea (jokingly called "a whole day"), though the rooms themselves are old but decent.
The hotel often first assigns a lower-quality room and promises to move guests the next day. One guest was promised building 3000.
Even the farthest building (1000-series, at the very edge of the property) is only about a 3-minute walk to the sea, so it's not worth worrying too much.
A group of four avoided booking a "Standard" room type and later regretted it — better to request a Family room from the start.
If booking a Family room, ask specifically for building 32 or 38 at check-in — guests found these buildings closer to the sea than other Family-category buildings.
