TL;DR
Swimming is best in the morning until around 2–3 PM before the tide recedes. After 4–5 PM you can swim from the pier. Water temperature is pleasant, but depth varies significantly with tides.
The sea level here depends heavily on tides — sometimes there's almost no water for several days. When the tide is in, depth reaches about shoulder height, which is fine for swimming. Best swimming window is until around 2–3 PM, after which the water recedes significantly. From around 4–5 PM you can swim again from the pier.
In mid-to-late March, the sea can feel cold for those sensitive to low temperatures. However, sunbathing on the beach is very comfortable as the sun is strong.
For morning swims, it's worth waiting until after sunrise for slightly warmer and more comfortable water conditions.
