Most resorts in Hurghada/Sharm el-Sheikh don't hand out free personal mask-and-fin sets: there's usually a shared pile of masks at the pier for on-site use, while proper rental (including full gear) is offered — for a fee — through the hotel's dive center. Full-face masks are increasingly banned for open-water snorkeling.

In practice the lifeguard often lets everyone in regardless, but the rule officially exists. The lifeguard station also has free anti-fog spray for anyone to use.
