Do Egyptian all-inclusive resorts provide free snorkeling masks and fins, or should I bring my own?

A traveller recommended bringing your own fins for swimming toward neighbouring hotels.

A snorkeling mask is worth having — masks sold locally at the resort tend to break quickly. Some excursions may offer masks for rent.

At one resort's pier there's a posted ban on full-face masks in open water, and the same rule applies on snorkeling excursions — guides warn guests in advance. In practice the lifeguard often lets everyone in regardless, but the rule officially exists. The lifeguard station also has free anti-fog spray for anyone to use.

Departing tourists sometimes leave their snorkeling masks for free for other guests at the hotel — worth asking in the resort's chat group before your trip in case someone leaving is willing to give away their gear.

At the pier where you enter the sea there's usually a whole pile of masks in different colors and styles — free to grab for use right there, no need to bring your own.
