TL;DR
Grand Rotana is praised for its large landscaped grounds, spacious beach, three jetties and snorkeling, while Club Rotana adds private check-in, lounge access and transfers. Service reviews are mixed, and recent guests note that the house reef is gradually deteriorating.
A guest returning in August 2026 found the resort much improved versus August 2023: more varied food, more seafood and mango, plus better entertainment and service. They obtained an upgrade from buildings 3–4 to building 2 for US$10 for two rooms, but felt the reef had declined.
One March visitor felt that service at Grand Rotana had slipped compared with earlier stays. Other travelers suggested Stella and Sultan as alternatives, while a two-bedroom room at Grand Rotana was considered too expensive.
For a quiet beach and snorkeling holiday, Club Rotana was especially recommended: private late-night check-in without queues, late checkout, individual transfers, and a lounge with snacks, fresh juices and cocktails. The resort has extensive landscaped grounds, a wide beach with loungers still available around 8:30–9:00 am, and three jetties to the reef; the paid gym was considered adequate.
