Is it normal in Egypt hotels to have occasional water outages and to ask housekeeping separately for bottled water in the room?

In the new building, the sink water pressure was extremely weak, with only a slight trickle. A guest suspected that flow restrictors may be installed there, but this was not confirmed.

According to one guest, the hot-water issue had not been resolved at that time: showering was manageable, but the water felt too cold for washing hair.

One guest explained that the hotel's water outages stem from a city-wide problem: the whole city has been without water for a while, with major supply disruptions, and it's unclear where the hotel even gets its water from. Occasionally the power also goes out due to city-wide blackouts, and the hotel's generators don't switch on immediately. The issue is expected to be resolved soon.

In one hotel block, guests reported that the issue continued for several days: even after housekeeping around 9:00–10:00, bottled water was not restocked and had to be requested directly from the cleaner.

Another same-day report confirms that there was again no water, and if guests are out during the day, it can be inconvenient to track down staff just to get bottled water—especially for families with children.

According to an earlier traveler report, water was unavailable about every other day. That suggests it was not just a one-time issue in a single room, but a recurring interruption at the property.
