TL;DR
Winter at Egypt’s Red Sea resorts can be windy: in Hurghada, heated pools were the practical option in February, while the sea felt too cold for swimming. For a quieter stay, keep in mind that pool-view rooms can be noisy.
In Hurghada in February, the wind was persistent. Heated pools made swimming possible, although getting out felt chilly; the sea seemed too cold to enter. Strong sunshine warmed people up quickly once out of the water.
In December, strong wind at the pier in Seagate made even a walk uncomfortable: gusts blew off sunglasses and caused ear discomfort. The travelers skipped the water park, so choosing a hotel with a heated pool is a sensible winter precaution.
If a quiet room matters, a pool-view room may not be the best choice: the pool area can be noisy because of music, smoking, and other guests. A mountain-view room was reported to be quieter.
