Is Tropitel hotel in Egypt worth it compared to other all-inclusive resorts?

A report from spring 2025 described power outages, shortages of plates, cutlery, napkins and food, poor restaurant hygiene, no alcoholic drinks, dirty grounds and too few loungers at Tropitel. It also says that most guests were relocated to other hotels within a day.

Compared with Tropitel, Swiss is described as a higher-standard option with better food, drinks, Mövenpick ice cream and evening shows. For a beach-focused stay, Novotel Beach is suggested because its beach is considered better and it is genuinely beachfront.

Additional review (stayed September 2025 and July 2026): confirms little has changed overall, but food quality has slightly declined and renovation works on the grounds have become more extensive.

Guest review (2024): overall positive experience. Downside — no food provided on checkout day after room handover. Food is sufficient and tasty though selection isn't huge (not 150 salads or 10 meat types), ice cream was disappointing. Staff were polite and helpful — an à la carte restaurant waiter returned a forgotten purse with valuables intact.

Recent guest reviews say the only visible change since autumn 2024 is new sidewalk tiles and a fountain — management, service, equipment, dining room furniture, and the minimal/economical assortment (including the napkin issue) remain unchanged.

As alternatives: White Valley (visited twice, planning a third trip) has a better beach, food available for everyone, no beer on-site but cold beer can be bought nearby. Mirage (visited once) has a colder, dirtier bay and a worse beach than White Valley.

Tropitel at the end of the promenade felt dull in May: weak alcohol selection and little entertainment. Not recommended if you want an active holiday.

Based on a 2021 stay: food is modest, alcohol quality noticeably lower than competitors, rooms are small, and entertainment is weak. However, the beach entry is excellent and there's a pleasant evening promenade. Perfect for a quiet retreat, not for party-seekers.

Gravity (November 2024): beautiful grounds and good animation, but food quality is lower than Seagull — meat was poor, grill portions were tiny. Seagull staff felt friendlier. Downsides include strong winds and a pontoon rather than beach sea entry.

Among similarly priced hotels, Ali Baba and Sunrise stand out as solid alternatives — one traveler's family with children stayed at Sunrise and was very satisfied.
