TL;DR
The older section (e.g. Suite Garden) tends to be cozier and shadier thanks to more greenery, making the heat more bearable. New wings often have less vegetation and can feel harsh in midday sun.
The older section (Suite Garden wing) was preferred for its coziness, charm, and shade from mature trees and plants. In the newer wing, walking around midday is tough due to the heat and lack of greenery.
The impression of a 'bare' resort often comes from staying in the newer buildings. The older part of the property has noticeably more greenery and pleasant landscaping.
The resort does have palms, lawns, and shrubs overall — it's not barren. However, greenery is unevenly distributed between wings. Bay View is one of the available accommodation sections.
