TL;DR
The main hazards are stonefish (lies on shallow sandy bottom) and lionfish (usually stays almost motionless under pontoons/piers). If you don't touch them or provoke them, the risk of a sting is very low.
According to observations, lionfish barely move and stay under the pontoons, rarely straying more than half a meter away — accidentally bumping into one is unlikely. Other venomous fish will only sting or bite if provoked, so it's best to stay away from people who feed them.
Nearly all brightly spotted (polka-dot patterned) fish are dangerous, as well as gray fish resembling ruffe that fan out their dorsal spines — these can easily cut you. The main rule is to never grab marine life with your hands.
If you don't touch marine creatures with your hands, the overall risk is low. Be especially careful of stonefish, which camouflage in shallow water slightly off the main beach area, and lionfish, which often hover in the water near piers.
