One recommended shopping spot is a large variety store with a wide selection: souvenirs, edible gifts, tea, spices, cotton goods, decent-quality clothes, water accessories, and more. It is better for doing a big one-stop shop than expecting a discount-store format.

If you need a suitcase, the Cleopatra Bazaar area was quoted at about EGP 800 for a size S case. By comparison, Gomla was mentioned at EGP 1,200 for the same size, so Cleopatra Bazaar may be better for luggage.

Gomla Market is described as a small supermarket within walking distance. It sells household goods, slippers, clothes, food, and toys, and payment is in Egyptian pounds. One useful price point mentioned was Miswak toothpaste at about EGP 44, slightly cheaper than at a pharmacy.
