TL;DR
At many Egypt resorts, staff may clear towels from unattended pool loungers after about one hour. The policy is meant to stop early sunbed reservations and reduce laundry and water use.
More resorts are enforcing anti-reservation rules: if a towel is left on a sunbed but nobody returns for roughly an hour, staff may remove it and free the lounger.
If a towel disappears from a claimed lounger, it is not necessarily theft: pool staff may have collected it under the resort’s policy. Check notices by the sunbeds or ask reception.
At some resorts, attendants place towels on loungers, sometimes for guests using their services. A towel alone should not be treated as a guaranteed all-day reservation.
