Even brief sun exposure can be enough to trigger a photosensitivity reaction — for example, just walking from your room to the beach or restaurant may be sufficient.
The same cream and sun exposure didn't cause a reaction back home — it's suspected that the combination of sun and seawater in Egypt specifically is the trigger, not the cream alone.
