TL;DR
Hurghada's dry climate makes high temperatures much more bearable than they sound — 45–50°C feels far less oppressive than humid heat elsewhere.
In early June, daytime temps were around 28-30°C, but nights were cold enough in the room to need a blanket — a single sheet wasn't enough. The sea in June also felt cool for swimming; a couple of degrees warmer would have been nicer.
Based on personal observations over several years (traveling the same period each year): 2023 was hot, 2024 was cool (already cold by the second half of October 2024), and 2025 was warm. Weather patterns noticeably shift year to year.
In July, even near 40°C in Hurghada felt noticeably easier to handle than 33–35°C in Turkey — the dry air makes the heat less exhausting compared to a more humid climate.
The climate has become less predictable: around 40°C was expected in August, but it actually stayed at 35°C. Meanwhile, last September nighttime temperatures reached as high as 38°C.
In late June 2026 in Hurghada, 38–39°C felt noticeably harder to bear than 34°C during the same dates the previous year — likely due to the absence of significant wind. A midday break indoors (roughly 13:00–15:30) proved essential; trying to stay outside all day even in the shade led to overheating and losing the next day to recovery.
In early June in Hurghada, temperatures of 30–37°C with a breeze feel comfortable. At July highs around 45°C, the sea at roughly 28°C feels refreshingly cool and becomes an effective way to cool down.
Egypt's dry climate makes extreme heat much more manageable — locals and visitors often compare 50°C there to feeling like 25°C in a humid climate. Don't be put off by the numbers alone.
In August 2024, temperatures in Hurghada reached 45–50°C, yet visitors reported feeling comfortable thanks to the dry air.
In June 2024, temperatures were 35–40°C, but nighttime humidity made evenings less comfortable than the hotter but drier August conditions.
Even in January at 23°C, the sun in Hurghada is intense enough to cause sunburn despite sunscreen use. In summer the UV intensity is even higher, so strong sun protection is essential year-round.
