TL;DR
According to travelers in summer and autumn 2026, shops and pharmacies on hotel grounds in Sahl Hasheesh charge two to three times more, while prices outside the hotels are roughly the same everywhere. In August 2026 travelers recommended King Tut Bazaar opposite a hotel (slippers EGP 150, chocolate-covered dates EGP 100) and Fix Price, where three cans of cola cost US$1. Haggling is expected in hotel shops.
For a larger grocery run, use a better-stocked shop rather than a small store opposite the hotel: it was reported to be cheaper. As a price comparison, three cans of cola at Fix Price cost US$1, while the hotel-side shop initially asked US$1 per can; bargaining brought it down to two cans for US$1.
King Tut Bazaar, opposite the hotel, was recommended as cheaper than Fix Price for some basics. Reported prices included slippers at about EGP 150, chocolate-covered dates at EGP 100, and a small Vatika product at EGP 50.
Prices at shops outside the resorts were reported to be broadly similar, so there is little reason to pay the hotel markup for everyday purchases.
Hotel pharmacies and convenience shops were described as expensive. Buy medicines, toiletries and everyday essentials outside the resort complex when possible.
In July 2026 a participant wrote that Sahl Hasheesh has no standalone shopping mall outside the hotels, and prices in hotel shops are extremely high. As an example, doum palm tea was quoted to them at US$8 per 100 grams.
In October 2026 travelers confirmed from their own experience that everything in the shops on hotel grounds costs two to three times more than outside. So it makes sense to do most of your shopping outside the hotel.
If you do have to buy at the hotel, a participant noted in September 2026 that you can haggle successfully in the lobby shop and in the small shop near the cascade. For reference, they mentioned about US$3 at the hookah and tea stall on the beach and US$5 for energy drinks.
In September 2026 participants described ordering groceries for delivery to their hotel from a store with fixed prices in Egyptian pounds. For Sahl Hasheesh the store had a minimum order amount, which participants suggested checking on its website. In one traveler's experience, everything was delivered and handed over in the hotel lobby; delivery cost US$10 and was free for larger orders.
