TL;DR
Hotel beaches can have coral cuts (especially for kids) and non-guest locals using the beach — wear coral/water shoes and stay alert.
Attempts to restrict beach access have recurred for several years (seen in both 2024 and 2025) and usually resolve on their own within about 2 days. Tip: just walk to the neighboring beach as usual and act like you don't understand what security is asking — many guests do this.
Some beaches occasionally get crowded by groups from neighboring hotels — security at both properties tends to react the same passive way. This lasted a couple of days in June, but was resolved by early July.
At one hotel's new beach area, a child badly cut their foot on coral (needed stitches) — bar staff confirmed such incidents happen. Wear coral/water shoes when entering the water and watch that kids don't take them off.
On some hotel beaches you may encounter local families who aren't actual hotel guests — this can feel unsettling, especially for parents traveling with kids.
