Most biting incidents happen after tourists hand-feed fish with bread — the fish associate humans with food and may bite when the food runs out. Best rule: don't feed any marine life at all.
Rule: never feed fish bread
Sharks are predators and can potentially see humans as prey. Don't be fooled by their seemingly calm behavior — they are wild animals. Experienced divers are aware of this and stay calm underwater.
According to local divers, humans are not part of the Red Sea sharks' natural diet. If you don't provoke them and stay calm, the risk of an attack is minimal.
