TL;DR
Mosquitoes are present outdoors but rarely get into hotel rooms, depending on how well the hotel is treated. No bed bugs reported. Repellent bracelets and plug-in fumigators help.
Mosquitoes and midges are present outdoors in Sharm el-Sheikh, but rarely make it into hotel rooms. No bed bugs found. Sensitivity varies — some guests get bitten a lot, others not at all.
A plug-in electric mosquito repellent kept the room bite-free. Bites seen on other guests' legs outdoors were likely from tiny ants rather than mosquitoes.
Over two nights at a hotel on the Naama Bay promenade, only one mosquito got in — the balcony was kept mostly closed. Repellent wristbands bought online beforehand worked well, no bites. Hotel pest control quality makes a big difference.
