TL;DR
Personal-use medication for the trip duration usually passes through security without issue and without receipts, but for prescription or controlled substances it's safer to carry a doctor's note or pharmacy receipt. In Sharm el-Sheikh, pharmacies are available in Naama Bay (El Ezaby chain) and near Il Mercato/Old Market.
In town you can stock up on medications at El Ezaby pharmacy chain branches in the Naama Bay area, as well as small pharmacies near Il Mercato mall and the Old Market. Standard range includes painkillers, antihistamines, and remedies for stomach upset and sunburn.
Carrying medications in hand luggage at the airport usually doesn't require showing a receipt if it's standard drugs in a reasonable quantity for the trip (a few packs, not boxes). Liquid medications should be declared separately if the volume exceeds normal liquid limits for carry-on.
For prescription or strong medications (codeine-based painkillers, psychotropics, some antidepressants) it's recommended to carry a pharmacy receipt or a doctor's prescription in English — this may be requested during security checks at departure or upon arrival in Egypt.
