How to negotiate taxi prices in Sharm el-Sheikh and how much should a ride cost?

Set the fare before getting in: once the driver has accepted the agreed amount, do not accept attempts to renegotiate it after the ride.

Around El Salam in Naama Bay, street taxis are usually easy to hail; depending on the destination, fares can be negotiated to roughly 50–200 EGP.

An InDrive quote does not always secure a ride: drivers may ignore the request or counter with a higher price. Where taxis are passing, it can be quicker to use the app’s suggested fare as a reference and negotiate directly; at a remote hotel gate with no cars nearby, InDrive may be the only option.

For trips from a hotel to Farsha or the Old Town, drivers may initially ask US$10, but about US$8 per car can be negotiated; payment can be made on arrival back at the hotel.

Shared minibuses (unmarked, often white on the lower half) run a fixed route and can be flagged down from the roadside.
