Sharm el-Sheikh airport transfer: direct to hotel or multiple stops?

Staying at Serenity hotel, booked a taxi through the hotel — $30 round trip, with the driver agreeing to pick up from the same spot again after 2 hours.

A suitcase went missing after another tourist from the same flight mistakenly took it for her own and brought it to her hotel. Had to travel 30 km at their own expense to retrieve the luggage.

On one occasion the pickup car never arrived for a daytime hotel-to-airport transfer; after calling reception, staff said to leave the suitcases in the room and walk to the exit — the luggage was delivered separately to the exit afterward.

Try to find out in advance which hotel is first on the transfer route — if yours isn't first, it can be better to just take a taxi instead of waiting through other hotel stops.

A one-way transfer can be booked separately from the hotel for around $20.

At some locations you can request a hotel transfer directly at the ticket desk — sometimes a private car is provided for a single passenger.

One hotel ran a shuttle bus for $1 per passenger on a rotating evening route: Soho — Naama Bay — Old Town — and back again. The bus waited at each stop.

With an elite transfer, the bus stops at a maximum of two hotels. On the way from the airport, the ride can be direct to your hotel with no stops. On the return trip, there was one stop at the Rixos hotel.

Some transfer buses go directly to one specific hotel only, without stopping at other properties — this depends on the terms of your transfer booking.

Belongings can sometimes get lost during transfers when switching hotels or changing to a taxi — keep a close eye on your luggage throughout the journey.

Check with your tour operator or transfer company whether a direct hotel delivery option is available — it can sometimes be arranged on request.
