TL;DR
Most ATMs in Sharm El Sheikh appear to limit a single cash withdrawal to around EGP 4,000–4,250. You can usually withdraw more through several transactions, but your home bank may charge a fee each time.
Based on travelers’ experience, the Egyptian ATM bank may not add its own withdrawal fee for a foreign card. For example, Rosselkhozbank charged about RUB 250 per transaction, with only negligible losses reported from double currency conversion.
The usual per-transaction ATM limit in Sharm El Sheikh is EGP 4,000 or EGP 4,250. An ATM with an EGP 8,000 limit was mentioned, but travelers had not been able to locate one in Sharm.
If you need more cash, make two or three separate withdrawals at the same ATM. Keep in mind that your card-issuing bank may charge its withdrawal fee separately for every transaction.
