Where can I buy regular alcoholic beer outside my hotel in Sharm El Sheikh?

At the Duty Free shop a short walk away, alcohol can only be purchased within the first 48 hours after arrival.

A Metro store is about 1.5–2 km to the left of the hotel and can be an option for drinks. The nearby Drinkies liquor shop is not recommended: it is very small, has limited selection, and reportedly carries products similar to the alcohol served at the hotel.

If you are staying all-inclusive, try the hotel’s drinks first: at one hotel marketed as five-star, the beer was considered decent, while the whisky, gin, rum and wine were disappointing.

Small shops opposite or close to the hotel can be the easiest place to buy alcoholic beer without making a special trip. Removing your hotel wristband before shopping may help avoid an inflated tourist price.

Bargaining is worth trying at shops near the hotel: a practical rule of thumb is to start at roughly half the initial asking price. If the deal is not good, take the hotel’s free shuttle and compare options in another area.
