Are there power outages (blackouts) in Batumi and the Adjara region, Georgia?

In early August 2026 Tbilisi had a citywide blackout — traffic lights stopped working and building lights went dark.

Outages are usually localized, mostly hitting the Adjara region rather than the whole country at once — it's considered unusual for both Adjara and Tbilisi to lose power at the same time.

In Kobuleti (near Batumi) there was a large-scale power outage in late July 2026 — locals note this is a fairly common occurrence in the region.
