Can you pay for Yandex Go in Batumi with a foreign bank card, or should you choose cash?

You can select cash payment in the Yandex app: in late July 2026 a traveler checked this and reported the problem solved. In August 2026 participants also advised choosing cash when booking a Yandex taxi.

For rides around Batumi, participants in late June 2026 named three taxi apps: Yandex, Maxim and Bolt. The fare is shown in the app in advance, so you can compare prices before booking.

On card payment, the June 2026 answer was: if you do not have a card issued outside Russia, choose cash in the app. In other words, participants do not count on a Russian-issued card working for taxi payments in Batumi, while a card from a bank elsewhere is a workable option.

If an app taxi does not suit you, a transfer was suggested in June 2026 as an alternative — it can be arranged in advance so you do not depend on a linked card.
