Airport taxis only accept lari. The best option is to ask the driver to stop at a currency exchange on the way to the city — rates there are much better than at the airport.
You can exchange money at the airport, but the rate is very poor. Just get a small amount of lari for the taxi fare, then exchange the rest in the city or at a roadside kiosk.
A local Georgian bank card is the most convenient payment method. Cash lari also works, but taxi drivers sometimes struggle to give change.
