How to get from Batumi airport to the city center and use public transport (buses, transit card)?

When topping up a Batumi Card at an orange Bank of Georgia terminal, tap the card on the reader first, follow the payment steps, then tap it again to load the top-up onto the card.

The transit card (Batumi card) is sold at the office on Gorgasali St. 55; top up at orange Bank of Georgia terminals around the city. Fare is 0.70 GEL, paid right when boarding. The card also works in Tbilisi, and vice versa.

Bus #10 runs from the airport to downtown, payment only by transit card (sometimes sold at a kiosk in the departure area). If you don't have a card, ask a fellow passenger to pay for you in cash and settle up when exiting.

Taxis from the airport to your hotel via Yandex Go, Bolt, or Maxim, pay in cash (GEL) since sanctioned-country bank cards don't work — enter the amount manually in the app.

Currency exchange at the airport has a bad rate — only exchange 20-30 GEL for the ride to your hotel. Ask the driver to stop at a 24-hour exchange office on Batumi Airport Highway 88.

For Batumi–Tbilisi travel, take the train (tickets on the official site tre.ge or TKT.ge, foreign bank cards required), or Metro Bus/City Bus companies, or shared minibuses from Tbilisi Square and the train station.

SIM cards are available at the airport, but it's cheaper in the city — e.g. the Magticom office at Shota Rustaveli St. 10. Free airport Wi-Fi exists but sometimes doesn't connect — locals will usually share their hotspot to help you call a taxi.
