Where to buy authentic local wine in Batumi without getting a fake?

Regarding larger supermarkets in Batumi, shoppers wrote in August 2026 that Agrohub is a decent big store, similar to a hypermarket but smaller. In one shopper's impression, its wine selection is the same as everywhere else. Neighbourhood stores carry almost all basic groceries, though with a narrower choice.

In late July 2026 a participant pointed to Boni market, with a caveat: stick to the permanent stalls and avoid sellers outside the market. In his words, the wine you taste is not always what ends up in your container. His own advice was to buy draft wine from a winery shop — there are many of them, for example in the Old Batumi area.

Another participant replied in July 2026 that in Armenia wine can be bought in any supermarket, but could not vouch for Georgia. The suggestion was to try a supermarket there as well and to avoid buying alcohol from unknown street sellers.
