Best time (tide) to swim at Nusa Dua beach in Bali without big waves

Besides Nusa Dua, Melasti beach is also good for swimming — it's calm enough to swim, but there's a slight current and the water is a bit colder than at Nusa Dua.

One traveler noted that even after visiting Nusa Dua several times, they never caught completely calm water — waves are almost always present, so timing your visit to high tide matters.

For swimming with kids, morning high tide is best — at Sanur beach, for example, the water is calm and wave-free at that time, making it convenient for families.

It's recommended to visit Nusa Dua specifically during high tide, when swimming is calm; on the opposite side of the Bukit peninsula (Padang Padang, Dreamland, Balangan) waves stay strong regardless of tide.

For a quiet stay with calm water, Nusa Dua is a good choice — unlike Kuta, where waves are quite rough and better suited for surfing than relaxed swimming.
