How to get a taxi or Grab ride back from remote areas in Bali when rides are scarce?

For remote areas, look for local driver contacts on Tripadvisor or Bali-related forums/chats, or negotiate directly with a taxi driver once you're there.

Most reliable option: ask the driver who dropped you off to wait for you — he probably won't find another passenger there anyway, so driving back empty isn't worth it for him either.

If traveling solo, a bike-taxi (ojek) works fine, but with family and especially with a child it's better to book a car — bike-taxis are impractical in that case.
