How to get to Nusa Penida from Bali and how much does scooter rental cost?

Scooters are available for rent right at the Nusa Penida pier from morning to evening, making it easy to pick one up right after arriving.

A convenient option is booking ferry tickets through trip services that include Bali transfers, then hiring a local driver separately on the island.

Speedboat tickets are sold at the Sanur port ticket office for up to 200,000 IDR per person one way. The crossing is on a comfortable speedboat.

At the Nusa Penida port exit there are plenty of driver-guides offering island tours for a small fee. However, given the rough roads and winding terrain, renting a scooter yourself — also available at the port — is often the better choice.

A day trip to Nusa Penida is not recommended — attractions are far apart and the roads are challenging. Staying 3 days is ideal; accommodation costs up to 400,000 IDR per night.
