Taman Safari Bali or Bali Zoo - which one should you visit?

A review of Taman Safari Bali (July 2026): the travelers loved it. They bought a "safari + marine zone" ticket, which included animal shows (held often — they caught three different ones along the way), a filling lunch (taste "7 out of 10"), the safari itself by bus, and 2 ride tickets. According to them, a jeep safari costs about 1 million rupiah extra. The reviewer recommends the park to friends, especially for a trip with children.

At Taman Safari Bali, according to the same review, you can feed almost all the animals: elephants, giraffes, fish, guinea pigs, deer, goats, turtles, a hippo, meerkats and capybaras. A basket of feed was inexpensive, the traveler said.

The night safari at Taman Safari Park (July 2026 review): the travelers enjoyed it, but in their view it is not worth the money. You ride in a cage vehicle, and a tiger may jump on top and walk across it — a thrilling experience. It lasts about 1.5 hours including dinner.

Instead of the night safari, the same traveler recommends an "after hours" zoo visit — sold as separate tickets: a group of 6–8 people sees the animals up close, without crowds, and can feed and hold them.

A review of Bali Zoo (July 2026): the children loved it, but the most popular activities, such as with capybaras, need to be booked in advance. The family was done in about 2 hours 45 minutes and still made it to a water park about an hour's drive away, where the kids stayed until 6 p.m. — a full day.

Another impression of the zoo asked about (July 2026): a small, pleasant, well-kept and scenic tropical zoo. The visitors combined it with a bird park 5 minutes' drive away, where they spent a long time with free bird feed, "covered in parakeets".
