What time is high tide at Melasti Beach Bali and when can you actually swim there?

When checking a tide chart, look at the meter reading: the higher the number, the more water; in many spots around 1.5m is already enough for comfortable swimming.

Entry is free; as a practical rule, try to swim before 14:00-15:00, since the tide usually starts going out after that time, leaving less water.

Around late August (roughly the 23rd-26th) there's almost no daytime high tide, which can make swimming difficult at most beaches in the area, not just Melasti.

Even at peak high tide the water at Melasti can still be shallow in spots — depth depends on the specific tide height that day, not just whether it's high or low tide in general.

Before heading to Melasti, look up an online tide chart for that specific date — plan to swim about 1-1.5 hours before high tide peaks, when there's already enough water.

Even at low tide you can still find a swimmable spot at Melasti by walking further away from the famous White Rock formation, where the water stays deeper.
