Do I need an onward or return ticket to fly to Indonesia?

Airline staff may ask for an onward or return ticket at check-in, and travellers can be denied boarding without one. Indonesia’s automated immigration gates do not normally check tickets, but relying on that is risky.

Indonesia B1 and C1 visa entry, re-entry and extension rules, including passport validity requirements

B1 and C1 are separate Indonesian visa routes, so entering on B1 does not automatically mean that an already issued C1 can be used later. Confirm re-entry, B1 extension and passport-validity requirements with Indonesian Immigration; one traveller’s C1 account showed it as active until 25/11.

Do you need a return ticket to enter Indonesia on a social/cultural visa?

Indonesian law does not require a return ticket for the C12 social/cultural visa. Airlines may ask, but you can decline by citing Indonesian immigration rules.
