TL;DR
A foreign card linked to Apple Pay can work for payments in Seychelles, while 2002 euro notes may be accepted for exchange, accommodation and car hire. However, airport visa payments may require newer notes, and damaged bills can be refused.
2002-series euro notes were used for accommodation and car rental and were accepted at an exchange bureau. For a visa payment at the airport, however, older notes were refused and 2019-series bills were needed.
Cash may be checked closely at the Praslin port ferry terminal: a €100 note creased near the hologram was refused for tickets, although an exchange bureau later accepted it. Carry clean, undamaged notes in several denominations.
For cashless spending, a foreign card added to Apple Pay can work: an Armenian card arranged remotely and delivered by post was reportedly accepted for payments around Seychelles.
