Best beaches and things to do on Praslin island, Seychelles

Anse Lazio is especially scenic at sunset, but the sea can be rough, with substantial waves, so it is not always ideal for calm swimming. In southeast winds, it is also considered a good overnight anchorage for catamarans.

Petit Anse can be accessed through the Four Seasons grounds; a visitor reported being admitted without difficulty. Beaches in Seychelles are publicly accessible.

For calmer swimming, consider Côte d'Or beach: it was noted for its calm water and exceptionally beautiful sea color.

You can drive and park close to one of the beaches, inflate a SUP board, and paddle over to Petit Anse by water instead of hauling the board through the Four Seasons resort grounds. The stretch between these beaches offers beautiful views from the water.

Anse Soleil beach is also very beautiful, with fine sand, an easy water entry, and picturesque rocks.

The island has three beaches unsuitable for swimming due to strong, 'cinematic' waves, but they are almost always uncrowded.

You can get around the island by bicycle — there are few cars and none of the typical blue public buses.

If you want to swim, you can walk to the more distant Coco beach, which has a small sheltered cove for swimming.

The two must-visit beaches on Praslin are Anse Lazio and Anse Georgette. A hiking trail connects them. A practical route: arrive at Anse Lazio, walk the trail to Anse Georgette, then return to Anse Lazio to get your transport back.

Visiting both Anse Lazio and Anse Georgette in a single day is quite tiring — plan for a full day or split the visits across two days.

Getting around Praslin requires a taxi or rental car. On the nearby island of La Digue, bicycles, tuk-tuks, and walking are the main options.
