Do I need to book the Praslin to La Digue ferry in advance, and can tickets be refunded?

For business-class ferry travel, booking ahead is advisable because availability decreases closer to departure. Tickets can be purchased on the official website; in a recent case, payment was accepted with a Kazakhstan-issued bank card.

Ferries from Praslin to La Digue can fill up in early November and other busy periods, so do not rely solely on buying a ticket on the day. If online payment is not possible, visit the Inter Island Ferry ticket office at Baie Sainte Anne jetty in advance, ideally the day before travel.

If you arrive on Praslin close to a ferry departure, it is safer to hold a confirmed ticket for a later sailing or allow extra connection time. Seats may still be available, but this depends on the date, sailing time, and arriving flights.

To request a refund for a Praslin–La Digue ticket bought at the counter, contact the seller before departure and check the conditions for that specific fare. Keep the paper ticket and receipt, as any refund and cancellation fee are set by Inter Island Ferry’s ticket rules.
