Do you need water shoes for swimming near Antalya, and which has the easier sea entry: Belek or Lara?

In late June, travelers said there was no bad smell at a rocky beach area. The farther beach was better for swimming, while the nearer one had some small debris in the shore break; a short swim farther out brought much cleaner water. The area was praised for its grottos and small seaside caves.

Bringing water shoes is recommended; some people even used Crocs for the sea entry. The entry itself was manageable, and children sometimes walked over the pebbles barefoot, but swim shoes were still considered a smart extra for rocky sections.

Compared with Lara, Belek was described as having murkier water and a rockier sea entry across different hotels, with some sharp stones, so many people preferred swimming from the pier. Lara was considered easier, with a sandier entry and very little pebble, and travelers even spotted Caretta caretta turtles near the pier in October.
