Is the sea clean and are the beaches good at all-inclusive hotels in Antalya in summer?

Based on 1 discussion with 3 participants · Last activity: 7 days ago

TL;DR

Sea water is generally clean, but can get murky near shore in the afternoon; if a river flows nearby, water is colder and murkier on one side, cleaner near the buoys on the other. Beach entry is usually sandy, but sunbeds can be scarce during peak season.

At another hotel, guests freely move sunbeds around for shade or sun, but staff periodically realign them into rows. No litter was seen on the beach, and bins were emptied regularly — no complaints about cleanliness.

At a 4-star hotel in July, the sea was clean, but the water entry is over large rocks — a pier helps with this. After July 10th, the beach gets overcrowded: sunbeds on the grass are claimed by 6am, and free spots can only be found until 10-11am.

The beach is wide with enough free sunbeds for everyone, but the hotel doesn't provide beach towels — bring your own. The sea is ideal in the morning, but after lunch some debris washes in and small waves appear. There's a beach bar with tea, water, coffee and juice; ice cream, fresh juice and coconuts are available for a fee. No beach animation activities from the hotel.

At one resort the sea is nice, but the beach has issues: no one enforces order with sunbeds and tables — guests squeeze extra sunbeds tightly between the rows, making it hard to walk through. Sunbeds are also taken over by guests from a neighboring hotel, and staff don't stop this. Tip: arrive around 9am to still find a spot in the 3rd row.

At one villa-style hotel, the sea has light waves — fun to jump in near shore, calmer further out. Water is clear in the morning but gets slightly murky right at the shoreline by afternoon. Animation team praised for variety of activities for all ages.

One beach has sandy entry and comfortable swimming, hotel food gets high marks. The sunbed area is narrow and crowded in peak season — better to spend most time at the hotel pool and visit the beach just once for a swim. A paid area with shaded tents and grass lawn is available.

At a beach near a river mouth, the water on the river side is noticeably colder and less clean — better to swim to the right, closer to the buoys, where the water is warmer and clearer. Beach towels are given out at the hotel spa, food is good, staff friendly, and no unusual smells were noticed in the sea.
