TL;DR
Mosquitoes are usually limited at Turkish Mediterranean resorts, but they can be noticeable in lush, humid hotels in the evening, including on balconies and occasionally in rooms. Pack a small repellent spray and a plug-in vaporizer.
In Tekirova in early August, travelers reported only occasional bites: mosquitoes were scarce during the day, but a few appeared in the room and on the balcony in the evening. A plug-in vaporizer was used overnight.
The chance of mosquitoes is higher at beachfront hotels with dense greenery, particularly on humid evenings. For this type of stay, one small mosquito spray and a plug-in vaporizer should be enough and take up little luggage space.
For evening time outdoors on Turkey’s Mediterranean coast, bring repellent as a precaution: mosquito levels can differ between resorts and even between individual hotels.
