Best time of day to visit Side beach and ruins in Turkey to avoid heat and crowds

Restaurants in Side get packed quickly — if you don't secure a table before 7pm, you may end up eating standing or waiting until after 11pm for a late-night snack.

Side beach is fairly clean in the morning — both in the shallows and beyond the pier. By evening, debris and seaweed tend to drift in.

The ancient ruins of Side (Antik Side) are best visited before 11-12am or in the late afternoon. Midday sun is intense and sunburn is a real risk — sunscreen is essential regardless of the time.
