Is Evrenseki area in Turkey good for a family holiday with kids?

A family with children is considering this area and asking what to look out for when travelling with kids.

The hotel exterior looks dated and hallways can smell musty, but rooms themselves are in decent condition with no visible damage. Linen and towels are changed daily.

The buffet food is excellent and very varied. It's worth buying alcohol at duty-free before arrival — hotel wine is poor quality, though beer is acceptable.

The hotel grounds are well-kept and green — a relief in the heat. Multiple pools and snack bars on site. Great setup for children of all ages.

Evrenseki beach is wide with a gentle, shallow sea entry — ideal for young children. Sunbeds are in good condition and beach staff clean them before guests arrive.

Entertainment programmes were initially conducted entirely in German, which was uncomfortable for non-German speakers. Russian was introduced gradually towards the end of the stay. If language matters, check the hotel's animation policy before booking.

The stretch between Kumköy and Evrenseki near the river is less appealing — the sea entry is worse there. Better to choose accommodation in Evrenseki proper, away from the river junction.
