TL;DR
Experiences vary — some travelers report no issues at all, others had mild stomach upset. Common advice: bring your own sorbents/probiotics, sanitize hands and cutlery yourself, and be cautious with pool water and buffet salads.
One traveler reported no stomach issues at all last year at the resort, but noted reactions are very individual. Recommends bringing Polisorb (a sorbent) just in case.
During a 10-day family trip, avoided pools and slides, rinsed cutlery with boiling water (utensils sit on leather placemats that are never changed), and used their own hand sanitizer since resort dispensers were empty. Gave the child a probiotic supplement before and during the trip — no issues. The adult had mild stomach upset, possibly from a sour eggplant salad (dining area is warm, AC set to only 29°C/84°F).
Tip: avoid resort pools in hot weather — water temperature can reach around 35°C (95°F), which is an ideal environment for rotavirus to multiply.
Smaller resorts may carry lower risk of stomach bugs simply because there are fewer guests who could bring in an infection.
