TL;DR
Çamyuva offers more 4-star hotel options at the same price, pine forest surroundings and close mountain views, while Tekirova has fewer choices and average scenery. On beaches in this area, sunbeds get claimed as early as 7-8am, and lifeguards/beach staff leave around 6pm.
From a hotel in Çamyuva, it's about a 7-minute walk to the sea — faster than the walk from room to beach in some large resort hotels. The beach itself is average for the region, so set expectations accordingly.
Hotel Kaplan in Tekirova was disappointing: gloomy views and ordinary scenery typical of the region, its only real plus being a nearby pine grove. When choosing between Tekirova and Çamyuva, Çamyuva ended up being the better pick.
In Çamyuva, for the same budget as Tekirova or Side, there were several 4-star hotel options available, with the hotel itself set among pine trees (great relief from the heat), close to mountains, in a cozy village. By comparison, Side at that price had unclear water and murky sandy beaches.
The beach and lifeguards in this area close around 6pm (sometimes earlier) — plan your swimming and beach time before then.
Sunbeds on the front rows of the beach get claimed very early — some people show up to reserve spots before 8am, so arrive early if you want a good place.
After 3pm the beach gets very crowded and hot — some visitors end up leaving earlier than planned, so it's best to plan beach time for the first half of the day.
