What to expect from a budget all-inclusive hotel in Turkey — honest traveler reviews

TL;DR

Budget all-inclusive hotels in Turkey offer decent food variety and entertainment, but expect worn-out rooms and sometimes dirty beaches. Pools and evening shows are usually the highlights.

What the community said

Fresh review (checked in yesterday): rooms are old and dirty, understaffed due to crowds. Food was disappointing — bland tomatoes, fried mackerel repeated for both lunch and dinner, watermelons surprisingly tasteless even in August.

Another guest: the sea is gorgeous, just a 5-minute walk from the hotel, shops are also nearby. There's a disco every day on the hotel grounds. Food is generally tasty, but the local alcohol is very poor quality — only wine and beer are decent, everything else is better brought from outside.

13 days ago Sea 5 min away, only wine/beer decent

Another guest (10 nights): hotel has changed noticeably — no more 'alya cards', no Turkish night, no basement disco; quiet after midnight. Food selection reduced but still tasty; some dishes still served behind glass (leftover covid measure), causing a queue. About 98% Russian-speaking guests. More water slides and activities added for kids; kids' club runs 10:00–00:00.

Practical area info: hotel-area shops price in euros, accept UnionPay, dollars, euros (lira is best rate). Nearby: pharmacies, a covered market, bus stop; across the road is an A101 supermarket (prices in lira). Walking toward Crystal Water hotel leads to another market, car rental, pharmacies, souvenirs, cheap clothes (1–2 t-shirts for €3–5), and beach access. Yandex Maps works fine. Paid beach activities: parasailing, jet ski, banana boat, water bikes. A one-day Istanbul excursion was offered. Legoland-style Land of Legends park reachable by bus BA22 toward Antalya — shopping zone and evening shows (from 17:00) are free to enter, site has Russian.

Review of a different 18+-only hotel: small, boutique-style, few Russian speakers among staff and guests, has a hotel guide fluent in English/Turkish/Russian. Room came with a private pool (not just pool access). Daily housekeeping, polite staff, large portions. Private beach with easy water entry and pier access. Live music in the restaurant on weekends. Paid yoga and a gym available. Cocktails and alcohol on the pricier side.

Another review: hotel isn't new but very well-kept and clean (unlike some Turkish hotels known for dirty dishes). Food is standard but filling; there's a burger place and a separate beach-menu restaurant outside the main one. Ice cream and waffles served 12:00–21:00. Live music every evening at the beach bar. Beach isn't crowded, plenty of loungers even in the morning.

Fresh review (10 days): sea is clean and warm, enough loungers, staff is friendly and speaks Russian. Room cleaning isn't very thorough and rooms feel a bit worn, but AC works well. Kids' and adults' animation happens daily at the pool, with evening shows in an amphitheater. Beach entry into the sea is sandy.

First impressions positive: staff speaks Russian, lobby bar stocks imported alcohol and bottled beer. Lunch included salmon and shrimp. A construction site on the grounds is frozen — no work ongoing, no noise.

The hotel markets itself as youth-oriented but animation is nearly absent: over 11 days there were only a couple of aqua aerobics sessions at 16:30, music at the bar until midnight, and one karaoke night. A foam party and a hotel beauty contest were cancelled. The beach is somewhat dirty — cigarette butts, unclean sunbeds, infrequently emptied bins attracting ants. A lifeguard was rarely seen. On the plus side, two shuttle minibuses run on a schedule, and the sea is excellent.

Early in the stay the hotel is quiet with no queues. Once large tour groups arrive, queues form and free tables become scarce, though there is still enough food for everyone. The beach is kept clean with regular maintenance.

Budget-tier hotel: small rooms, mediocre renovation, some dirty common areas. No queues at the grill at all. Food variety is solid — fish, veal, chicken, vegetables, fruits, desserts. Snack bars are great: pizza, shawarma, fries, nuggets. You can even grab a bite at the beach. Overall decent value for money, with stunning views.

The hotel looks tired: no renovation, some dirty and smelly areas. Food is excellent and varied — over 10 days there was no need to plan meals, snacks were available everywhere. The sea is dirty with floating debris, and beach loungers are covered in bird droppings. Pool areas are cleaner and more pleasant. Alcohol is decent but cocktails only available at pool bars. Kids' animation is standard; evening shows can be genuinely impressive. Payment accepted in USD, EUR, Turkish lira, and via QR code.

Another hotel: well-maintained and clean grounds, great water slides, warm sea. Room is decent-sized. Housekeeping is not thorough but acceptable. By the end of the day, restaurant food runs low and becomes repetitive. Local alcohol is mediocre, cocktails disappointing. Getting noticeably busier. Mostly European guests, few Russian speakers. Transfer from the hotel took about 3 hours.
