TL;DR
Turkey's beach season effectively ends by late October. Many resort hotels close in November and reopen in April. Aim to visit no later than early October for a proper beach experience.
At the end of October the sea near Horus is already too cool for comfortable swimming, and the shallow water makes proper swimming difficult. Overall the stay was still enjoyable.
In October the resort is far less crowded than at peak season: sun loungers and pool tables are freely available at any time, even for large groups, while the hotel operates at full capacity.
In late May through early June the beach was in great shape — smooth sandy entry, no rocks. Negative reviews about the beach may stem from confusion between different hotels.
Many Turkish resort hotels shut down in November and reopen in April. Indoor spa pools at some properties have remained out of service since the COVID period — confirmed by spa staff.
A trip in the second week of November was a poor choice for beach holidays: sunbeds and umbrellas had already been packed away, the sea was stormy, and swimming was only possible in brief gaps between rain showers. The hotel's indoor spa pool was the only option. Recommendation: come no later than early October.
