According to Google Maps, the walk from the airport to nearby hotels takes about 30 minutes at a normal pace, without needing to climb over any fences — the route follows regular roads and sidewalks.

There are no official restrictions on walking around the airport at night, but part of the route may be poorly lit — it's a good idea to use a phone flashlight.

Walking all the way from the airport terminal to downtown Istanbul without luggage would mean covering roughly 78 km in a day — clearly impractical for a regular traveler with bags. Walking only makes sense for short distances to hotels right next to the airport, not for reaching central Istanbul.
