How much does public transport cost in Istanbul (metro, bus, taxi, ferry) in 2026?

The Istanbulkart itself costs 165 TL and is sold at metro terminals and at many tram stops.

A single ride on metro, bus or tram with Istanbulkart now costs 46.20 TL (up from 42 TL). Student fare is 22.55 TL. Changes took effect July 20, 2026.

Taxi flagfall is now 71.94 TL, per-km rate is 47.92 TL, hourly rate is 598.90 TL. Minimum fare for a short trip is 230 TL.

Marmaray (cross-Bosphorus commuter rail): 1-3 stations cost 37.40 TL, the maximum fare for 36-43 stations is 82.17 TL.

Metrobüs (BRT bus): one stop costs 33.08 TL, the full route (34-43 stops) costs 68.59 TL.

Ferries: Üsküdar-Eminönü route costs 58.52 TL, Kadıköy-Eminönü and Kadıköy-Beşiktaş cost 65.21 TL, and the route to the Princes' Islands (Bostancı-Adalar) costs 171.89 TL.

Dolmuş (shared minibus): up to 4 km costs 43 TL, 4-7 km costs 45 TL, 7-11 km costs 46 TL, 11-15 km costs 47 TL, 15-20 km costs 52 TL. Student fare is 28 TL.
