TL;DR
In summer 2026, Istanbul's T2 and F2 trams are suspended, several Taksim bus stops are closed, and the new Halkalı – Istanbul Airport metro line runs free of charge until July 31.
From June 28, 2026 until further notice, tram lines T2 (Taksim–Tünel) and F2 (Karaköy–Beyoğlu Historic Tunnel) are suspended. IETT bus stops at Taksim Square, Tarlabaşı Boulevard, and in front of the Atatürk Cultural Center (AKM) are also closed.
The new Halkalı – Istanbul Airport metro line is free to ride until July 31, 2026. The journey takes about 30 minutes, with trains running every 20 minutes — the same frequency as the M11 line.
From June 14 to 18, 2026, metro line M11 (Gayrettepe – Istanbul Airport) was fully suspended due to TCDD maintenance works, affecting the main metro route from the city center to Istanbul Airport.
